Cornhole Blogs October 17th, 2008 - Mice Eating into Cornhole Bags I wanted everyone to know that Woodgamz has some mice running around in our warehouse. This isn't too much fun since they are eating into about 5 Cornhole Bags a day! We have tried different style traps and they haven't really worked, so we are going to try the pellets. One bad thing about pellets is that the mice might crawl some where and then you would never find them and you will have that smell for a while. Any how, I just wanted everyone to know that mice love Cornhole Bags! Be careful and make sure you store your bags in a safe place. October 3rd, 2008 - Possible Cornhole Tournaments in 2009 Woodgamz.com is thinking about possibly hosting some cornhole tournaments in 2009. We were thinking about having several satellite tournaments around the midwest and then having a bigger one in the Columbus Ohio area. If any of you Cornhole enthusiast watch the World series of Poker, if would be similar to that. For example, if team A wins a tournament in Cleveland, they would automatically be qualified for the bigger tournament in Columbus for free. Hopefully that makes sense. And then of course anyone can pay to play in the cornhole tournament in Columbus. If you are interested in this or if you have ideas, please send an email to sales@woodgamz.com and we will make sure we follow up with you. Don't forget to order your Cornhole Bags and/or Cornhole Boards from Woodgamz.com. Thanks and have a good weekend. September 15th, 2008 - Ohio and how people have no electric Some people from around the United states might not realize that Ohio was hit pretty hard with wind gusts on Sunday afternoon. Of course, we can't complain a whole lot since Texas had to deal with Ike's full strength. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Texas. But I did want everyone to know that several people in Ohio has lost electricity due to the aftermath of Ike. In Columbus alone they are estimating that 200,000 are still without power. The electric company is estimating that most people will not have electric until Wednesday or Thursday of this week. We at Woodgamz.com are one of the very lucky businesses that it did not effect. We still have plenty of Cornhole Bags and Cornhole Boards in stock. We are short on our cornhole score caddies however since we have a local gentleman make them for us and he has no power. I hope everyone that suffered from Ike are OK and they can overcome any hardships this may have put on their lives!!! September 12th, 2008 - Nothing to do with Cornhole This blog has nothing to do with cornhole. I just wanted to let my family know I have finally posted some pictures of some of our family get togethers. Even though we might be playing cornhole, this is a stretch. You can check out the pictures on the 2007 Party Pics. You can check our some of our cornhole boards or cornhole bags on other pages of this site. September 8th, 2008 - Cornhole Scorekeepers Most recently we have been receiving a lot of orders for our cornhole score caddy. People have been writing in saying how nice they are especially if they are drinking a beverage. People always have said in the past that stray cornhole bags sometimes will knock over his/her beverage. With the cornhole score caddy, this has been eliminated. We have also heard from our customers that having a score tower that stands behind the cornhole boards is a lot better so both teams from ends of the playing area can see the score. Try one out today and let us know what you think. August 29th, 2008 - Cornhole Boards Painting Questions We here at Woodgamz.com receive a lot of calls and emails from customers and non-customers concerning what should be done to get their Cornhole Boards slicker. When we make our cornhole boards, we prime, sand and then apply two coats of high gloss external grade paint. If you need more information about that see our Cornhole News section for painting instructions. But if you want to make your cornhole boards slicker you can either sand them again and apply another coat of high gloss paint and/or you can then apply 3 or 4 coats of a poly acrylic lacquer to help seal your cornhole boards as well as make them slicker. Please let us know here at WoodGamz.com if you have any other questions. August 25th, 2008 - Woodgamz Cornhole Orders WoodGamz.com just exceeded its 15,000 cornhole product order. We are very proud of this feat. When we first started making cornhole products we had a lot of problems and issues with our cornhole boards and cornhole bags. Now I am proud to say we have learned from our mistakes and have refunded customers that were not that happy with our cornhole products. Today we ship over 50 orders a day that all contain our cornhole bags and we offer a year guarantee on them. This is especially important since our closest competitor can only offer 6 months warranty on their cornhole bags. We will soon be launching other products that are made out of wood. We hope to start selling these products after labor day. Please come back and see us at Woodgamz.com for the latest wood games we have to offer. Also, don't forget about St. Michael's Festival this labor day. They will be having a cornhole tournament all weekend long. August 16th, 2008 - Cornhole Tounrament We donated a set of cornhole boards and cornhole bags to Saint Michael's Church for their annual festival for a blind auction. The proceeds of the auction will benefit Saint Michael's School in Worthington Ohio. We hope everything goes OK and they make a lot of money. By the way, there will be a cornhole tournament Labor Day weekend at Saint Michael's during their annual Labor day Festival. August 12th, 2008 - Cornhole Tounrament We dropped off our cornhole boards and cornhole bags at Caribbean Jerks for their weekly tournament that will start on August 18th. The Cornhole tournament is sponsored by WoodGamz.com and Coors Light. They are going to be giving away prizes to the weekly winners and then invite the winners back for the final tournament. There will be grand prizes for the winner of the invitaitonal. August 11th, 2008 - Cornhole Board Customization People have always asked how they should customize their cornhole boards. We recommend that you prime your boards first unless of course you are looking for a natural looking cornhole board. After you prime your boards sand them and remove the dust the sanding just created. Then you apply 1 to 2 coats of external grade high gloss paint. Once the paint dries on the cornhole boards apply your sticker or any customized paint design that you may have in mind. After that paint dries apply some sort of poly acrylic type enamel. After the enamel dries you should be ready to play cornhole. August 5th, 2008 - When your Cornhole Bags become wet I have received several emails about customers asking what they can do when their cornhole bags get wet. The cornhole bags will swell initially which will cause them to break down quicker than bags that were never wet in the first place. The bags will need “break in” time after they become wet. Besides this there is really nothing you can do once bags become wet. Water is like kryptonite to cornhole bags. Woodgamz.com would be more than happy to help you with any other questions you have about the cornhole products you have purchased. August 1st, 2008 - Dublin Irish Festival Cornhole Tournament Today is the Dublin Irish Festival Cornhole Tournament. On Wednesday night we applied all the vinyl stickers to our cornhole boards. It took a while, but they look great. We will be posting pictures on our gallery page real soon. I talked to Buddy this morning when we dropped off all the cornhole boards and bags. We brought a total of 12 corn toss games to the Dublin recreational center so they can set them up later today. Buddy coordinates the cornhole tournament for the festival. He told me they already filled all the spots for the tournament. I thought that was great! I hope it doesn’t rain tonight. We are looking forward to seeing everyone this evening at the tournament. July 26th, 2008 - How to Clean your Cornhole Bags We went up to my cousin’s this week for his funeral. His name was Dominic Ludovici and he passed away on Saturday July 19th, 2008. When we were there, we went over to Joe Ludovici’s house and we played some cornhole. Joe informed us that he cleaned his cornhole bags by dry cleaning them. They are huge Pittsburgh Steeler fans; hence he had yellow and black cornhole bags. So if anyone is interested in cleaning their cornhole bags, try dry cleaning them. It seemed to work out for my cousin Joe. |
